Christ Everywhere

Keeps grace: thát keeps all his goings graces; Acts in God's eye what in God's eye he is — Chríst — for Christ plays in ten thousand places, Lovely in limbs, and lovely in eyes not his To the Father through the features of men's faces.

Excerpt from Gerard Manley Hopkins “As Kingfishers Catch Fire”

“Christ Everywhere” is a centering prayer, which is a good way to catch your breath in the middle of a day and recenter yourself. This one has been helpful for me; I wrote it after reading Ephesians 1 and the poem above by Gerard Manley Hopkins. When reading through or reciting a centering prayer you should take a breath after each line. The word “Selah” is meant to be a pause, an opportunity for meditation. It can be simple to do at your desk on or on a quick walk.

I pray that this blesses you.

Christ Everywhere

Christ above me. Christ beside me.

Selah

Christ for me. Christ with Me

Selah

Christ in me. Christ through me.

Selah.

Christ in nature. Christ in neighbor.

Amen.
